Details of Teasel
Somewhere inside me is a botanist trying to get out, and I just love the shape and detail of teasel (Dipsacum Sylvestris).
This is a tricky linocut where I have added in paint the lilac-pink heads of the opening flowers in water colour.
One book I would take to a desert island is Bentham and Hookers’ “British Flora”. My copy is from 1954.
I thought it would be witty to print the Teasel onto a facsimile of the Dipsacum page from the book.
I think it looks good.
