Grand Theatre, Blackpool

by Peter Grant - 10:18 on 26 July 2024

I photographed the entrance to the Grand Theatre in Church Street, Blackpool last Summer, knowing I wanted to turn it into a linoprint (without the people).

Finally putting knife to lino - it has proved very absorbing - but at the same time very difficult to proof.

There is a large area to be inked and I have not been 100% pleased with the result.

Perhaps the answer lies in some large soft rubber rollers?

I ordered some from Handprinted in Bognor Regis - they arrived yesterday - enormous!

They are going to use a lot of ink, but they should solve the problem.

 Watch this space!

Yes! I achieved six decent prints with my new rollers.

Tricky to get the right amount of ink on the slab, the roller, and the lino.

Can't do it if you're not concentrating. Hope to do more prints today.
