Desiderata

desiderata poetry pamphlet from hestan isle press

‘Go placidly among the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.’

We bought a poster of “Desiderata” in a Penzance Craft Shop in 1969. It was a great favourite of our generation, and still sells to our contemporaries even now. Our children learned it by heart, and we like to think that they have profited by its advice.

“Found in St. Paul’s Churchyard” in Baltimore was the claim by the anonymous writer, it is now attributed to Max Ehrmann.
