Twr Mawr and St. Dwynwen

by Peter Grant - 10:48 on 09 January 2024

January 25th - only a couple of weeks away is Saint Dwynwen's Day. She lived on the Llanddwyn Island, part of Anglesey, in the fourth century, and is the Patron saint of love and friendship.

On the island - really an isthmus - can be found the remains of her church and her well.

More prominent is the lighthouse of Twr Mawr. Shaped like the windmills of Anglesey, it must be one of most photographed in the U.K.

Last year I made a linoprint of the lighthouse - available through the Online shop/linocut prints.
